Of
course his nasty clinic
Could not go on this way,
And, for Doctor Robert's wickedness,
There was a price to pay.
Relations of the patients
Were complaining every day,
Sending e-mails, cards and letters
To the RSPCA.
When the patients' protests
Were too strident to ignore,
They sent inspectors in there
And, dismayed by what they saw,
This cruelty to animals
They reported to the law.
So the local Bill took statements
Then hid them in a drawer.
For Doctor Robert was no fool -
He's seen the looming crisis.
He knew someday he'd have to pay,
No matter what the price is.
He's slipped the Fuzz a healthy bribe
To overlook his vices.
His big mistake was thinking he'd be
Left to his own devices. |

Of
torture, pain and suffering,
Then everyone protested.
They pressed the cops to do their job
And have the doc arrested.
Reluctantly, they had to do
Just what the town suggested.
The animals were led away
On trolleys, sticks and stretchers.
A millipede with housemaid's knees
Limped out on thirty crutches.
Rabbits, rats and marmosets
Were 'helped' by hungry vultures.
But, all in all, and by and large,
The creatures now had futures.
So Dr Bob was brought to trial
Along with all his staff.
'We were only following orders,' they claimed,
Which made the gallery laugh.
The famous Michael Mansfield
Spoke on the doc's behalf,
But the jury took agin 'im,
He was far too clever by half.
We won't repeat Bob's bad deeds here,
(Just refer to previous pages!)

Suffice
it to say, it was never in doubt,
His behaviour was clearly outrageous.
A verdict of 'guilty' was quickly brought in.
Said the judge, 'That was very courageous.
I'll hand down sentence shortly
After forty winks in my chambers.'
The doctor was given fourteen years
To the nation's jubilation.
But Nurse Jack escaped to the Costa del Sol
Where she killed a few more patients.
The porter was psychoanalysed
Then prescribed strong medication.
Honest John returned to the Scrubs
Where he fiddles the guvnor's taxation.
Gonzales sold his tale to the SUN
For a price that caused a sensation.
The moral of this story is,
If your pet has psittacosis,
Distemper, hard pad, rabies, mange,
Worms or myxomatosis,
Find a vet who’s good and kind
And knows his diagnosis. |
